At Skyline Helicopters, we operate in some of the most pristine and environmentally sensitive landscapes in the world. From supporting remote heli-skiing adventures to assisting in critical forest fire suppression, our work connects us directly to the natural environments we are committed to protecting.
We recognize that aviation has an environmental impact — and we believe responsible operation is not optional; it is essential. This is why we have partnered with GreenStep Solutions to track our carbon footprint.
As part of this process, we have installed two electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at our base in Kelowna, supporting the transition to lower-emission ground transportation.
There have been significant capital investments in aircraft efficiencies and software (engine and drivetrain monitoring systems), as well as the installation of BLR FastFins on our aircraft.
Our heli-skiing and training operations are conducted with strict environmental awareness. We carefully plan flight paths, staging areas, and landing zones to minimize wildlife disturbance and reduce noise impact. By limiting unnecessary repositioning flights and optimizing lift schedules, we reduce fuel burn while preserving the integrity of alpine ecosystems.
Wildfire response is about protecting communities and forests. We continuously improve operational efficiency during fire suppression missions to reduce idle time, optimize bucket cycles, and ensure aircraft performance is aligned with mission demands. By operating efficiently, we reduce emissions while delivering maximum effectiveness when it matters most.
At our bases and staging areas, we implement waste reduction and recycling programs, along with responsible fuel storage procedures. We work with partners and suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Fly responsibly. Protect relentlessly. Preserve always.
Sincerely,
CEO, Skyline Helicopters Ltd.
