Chief Pilot

Skyline Helicopters is seeking a Chief Pilot to help guide and strengthen our aircrew department here in the Okanagan Valley. We’re looking for a leader who values professionalism, promotes safe operations, and takes pride in building a cohesive, dependable pilot team. This role plays a central part in maintaining the standards and steady leadership our operation is known for.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clear, consistent leadership to the pilot group
  • Promote and maintain a professional, safety-focused aircrew culture
  • Oversee training, checking, SOP’s and pilot development throughout the year
  • Support day-to-day and seasonal operations alongside the Operations team
  • Uphold standards in accordance with company procedures and Transport Canada regulations
  • Contribute to long-term planning for the aircrew department and overall flight operations

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Solid experience in 702/703 helicopter operations. Specifically wildfire and heli-skiing
  • A calm, team-oriented leadership style
  • Strong communication and mentorship skills
  • A commitment to safe, well-considered decision-making
  • Prior experience in training or supervisory role is considered an asset
  • Someone prepared to be based in the Okanagan Valley

Qualified Pilots

Skyline Helicopters is accepting applications for Pilots, both seasonal and year-round opportunities. We currently operate 6 Agusta Westland AW 119 Koalas and 4 Bell 212s. We specialize in Fire Suppression and Heli-Skiing.

Responsibilities

  • Participation in our Safety Management System Program
  • Be familiar with all available flight information, including weather, and applicable NOTAMs where available, and determine fuel and oil requirements
  • Ensure all required aircraft maintenance work has been completed
  • Calculate aircraft weight and balance
  • Complete VFR Flight Itinerary and Flight Risk Assessment, as applicable
  • Complete the aircraft preflight inspection before each departure
  • Supervise and carry out the loading and securing of passengers, freight, or
    external loads
  • Complete all post flight duties, including filing arrival reports and confirmation to the company of the whereabouts of the helicopter when operating away from the base, recording flight times and any defects.
  • Maintain documents and equipment while on the base
  • Liaise with clients to ensure their needs are satisfied
  • May perform other duties, assigned

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Current Canadian CPL (H) or ATPL (H) and Medical
  • Valid Driver’s License and valid Passport
  • Personal flight helmet
  • Personal cell phone

 

Qualifications/Requirements Continued

  • Minimum 1500 hours total time on Helicopters is preferred
  • Previous turbine experience required
  • BC approved Mountain Course is preferred
  • Previous vertical reference experience is preferred

Experienced Bell 212 AME's

Skyline Helicopters is accepting applications for Intermediate AME’s, both seasonal and year-round opportunities. We currently operate 6 Agusta Westland AW 119 Koalas and 4 Bell 212s. We specialize in Fire Suppression and Heli-Skiing.

Responsibilities

  • Participation in our Safety Management System Program
  • Communicate with pilots in regards to maintenance-related problems and snags, looming inspections, etc.
  • Plan and carry out inspections, component replacements and troubleshooting.
  • Take part in all company training as required.
  • Communicate with the Director of Maintenance with respect to maintenance related issues.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Current Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License – M1 or M2
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Personal cell phone.
  • Previous field maintenance experience.
  • Locals to Kelowna and surrounding areas are preferred.
  • Bell 212 experience and endorsement.
  • Leonardo/Agusta Experience considered an asset.
  • Pratt and Whitney PT6T-3B endorsement and experience considered an asset.
